Erika Schat, LMSW

About Me.

I believe that the teenage years are a pivotal time for growth, and I am here to support young

people as they navigate their personal and emotional journeys. I specialize in working with

adolescents ages 12-18 years old to help them navigate the unique challenges of adolescence.

I began my career providing school-based case management to students which included

individual goal planning, group social skills lessons, and helping families access communities

resources. I then transitioned to providing school-based individual therapy and crisis

intervention. These experiences have allowed me to build a strong understanding of the broader

social and systemic challenges that adolescents face, while also honing my ability to collaborate

with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create the best support network for each child.

I am passionate about creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where teens

can explore their feelings, develop coping skills, and build resilience. Whether it's managing

anxiety, addressing issues with self-esteem, coping with peer relationships, or handling the

stresses of school, I work collaboratively with my clients to empower them and foster emotional

well-being.

In my role as a therapist, I use a strengths-based approach that draws from a variety of evidence-

based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and

Mindfulness Techniques. I believe that every young person has the potential to grow and thrive,

and my goal is to help them unlock their strengths and overcome obstacles.

If you are looking for a compassionate and skilled therapist to work with your adolescent, I

invite you to reach out for a consultation.
